Suzanne Brocklehurst is a freelance wine writer and consultant with almost 30 years experience in the industry on three different continents reinforced by an extensive formal education in all wine-related matters.

A year spent in Gascony, south west France, as part of her undergraduate studies ignited Suzanne’s passion for wine and kick-started a career in a constantly evolving and continually fascinating industry.    Initially working for a French wine shipper in London, Suzanne then moved back to Australia, the country of her birth, and was able to join the burgeoning wine industry of Western Australia working for iconic producer, Leeuwin Estate.  Thirteen years ago Suzanne’s nomadic lifestyle brought her to Singapore where roles have included wine education, private consultancy and wine writing for various Asia-based publications including The Wine Review, Asian Sommelier Guide, Appetite, Wine & Dine, The Peak -“G” and Drink Now Media in China.  Suzanne’s articles have also been published in Meininger’s Wine Business International magazine where her local perspective of Asia’s wine industry is confidently placed into a global context.  In her role as ‘Nose to the Ground’, Suzanne was a founder member of the wine recommendation website ‘The Local Nose’ where she has regularly contributed articles as well as her tasting expertise.  Suzanne has judged for various Asia based wine competitions including the Lianhe Zaobao Wine Review Annual Challenge and also FoodHotelAsia.  In 2012, Suzanne was part of the judging team for the inaugural Decanter Asia Wine Awards, a role which was reprised in 2013,2014 and 2016.

For Suzanne the wonderful world of wine has provided an on-going journey of discovery involving wine tastings and encounters with fascinating people around the globe.  It is these stories that Suzanne would like to narrate.
